A Year of Gratitude: Looking Back on the First Half of 2026

Every home has a story, and I'm grateful to have been a small part of so many new beginnings.

Three Things 2026 Has Reminded Me

  1. Relationships will always matter more than transactions.
  2. Helping a first-time buyer or veteran achieve home ownership never gets old.
  3. Gratitude is the best measure of success.

As we move through the summer and begin looking toward the second half of the year, I've found myself reflecting on everything that has happened over the past several months. Like many people, I rarely take the time to pause. Real estate is a profession that keeps you moving from one conversation to the next, one showing to another, and one closing directly into preparing for the next opportunity.

But every once in a while, it's worth slowing down.

For me, the first half of 2026 has been filled with moments that remind me why I chose this profession more than fourteen years ago.

I've had the privilege of helping first-time homebuyers unlock the front door to their very first home. One experience that will stay with me for a long time was helping a military veteran become a first-time homeowner. Watching someone who has dedicated part of their life to serving our country receive the keys to their very first home was incredibly rewarding and a reminder that real estate is about so much more than contracts and closing dates.

I've also celebrated with families who found the place where they'll build memories for years to come, worked alongside sellers who trusted me to represent homes filled with decades of history, and had the opportunity to market some truly remarkable luxury properties throughout Southwest Florida. Every customer, every home, and every story has made this year one I'll never forget.

While every transaction is different, one thing has remained constant.

People place an incredible amount of trust in their Realtor.

Whether someone is buying their first condominium, relocating across the country, investing in a second home, or selling a property they've loved for years, it's never just another transaction. Behind every contract is a family, a new chapter, and often a major life decision.

That perspective is something I never take for granted.

Looking back over the first half of this year, I'm reminded that success isn't measured solely by the number of homes bought or sold. It's measured by relationships, referrals, phone calls from past customers checking in, and the confidence people place in me when they recommend my services to friends and family.

Those moments mean more than any statistic ever could.

One of the things I enjoy most about real estate is that no two days are ever the same. Every property has its own personality. Every customer has different goals. Every challenge presents an opportunity to learn something new.

Even after all these years, I'm still learning.

That's one of the reasons I enjoy sharing articles like these. Whether I'm writing about life in Southwest Florida, local events, or answering questions people commonly ask before moving here, my goal has always been to provide useful information while sharing a little of what makes this community such a special place to call home.

I'm also incredibly thankful for the friendships and professional relationships that continue to grow each year. From fellow Realtors and local business owners to lenders, inspectors, contractors, photographers, and home stagers, real estate is truly a team effort. I'm fortunate to work alongside so many talented professionals who help create great experiences for my customers.

As summer begins to wind down and we prepare for another busy season in Southwest Florida, I find myself feeling optimistic. Not because I know what the market will do, but because I know there will continue to be opportunities to help people navigate one of the most important decisions they'll ever make.

For everyone who has trusted me, referred a friend, shared one of my posts, stopped to chat over coffee, or simply followed along with these blogs, thank you.

If there's one lesson this year has reinforced, it's that success isn't measured by the number of transactions completed. It's measured by the relationships built, the trust earned, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference during one of life's biggest milestones. For that, I'll always be grateful.

Here's to enjoying the final weeks of summer, appreciating the moments that often pass too quickly, and looking forward to everything the second half of 2026 has in store.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
